Chapter13 bankruptcy allows you to pay off your  debts over a period of three to five years. This type of bankruptcy may be appropriate for you if  you have non-exempt property that you want to keep. It is an option only if you have predictable income and your income is sufficient to pay the reasonable expenses with some amount left over to pay off your other debts.
